Well, summer is coming toward a close and the schools are back. But for those with pre-school children there's still good weather to enjoy a week in the country. And there is still a lot going on in the village. The weekly Wednesday market continues to pull the crowds with the wholesome Sussex food and a good opportunity to meet the neighbours. The Beehive deli is open all year with its lovely cakes and tables in and out making it ideal to meet friends.

There's the East Dean Players production coming up in November. The local history club meets on Wednesdays, the Bridge club on Thursdays and regular talks at the gardening club on Fridays. Your diary is full!
In the garden, the geraniums are in full bloom and the forget-me-nots are coming up for a second time. And we're thinking of planting some tubs with herbs for your cooking. But in any case, sheltered from the wind, take in the sun with a cup of tea and relax.
